Police were on the scene when a seagull was shot at Smalltown Marina
A man was startled when police fired a warning shot into the air during an early morning operation.
Two patrols were dispatched to Smalltown Marina at 9:00 AM. Upon arrival, they found a man asleep on his sailboat. The officer with the most stripes deemed it necessary to discharge a shot into the air to wake him up.
"It was more of a wake-up shot than a warning shot", says the officer, who wishes to remain anonymous. "Lying around asleep until nine o’clock is unheard of. Both I and the operations leader agree that the seagull that got shot and fell onto the dock was a pure accident, and not a consequence of the warning shot".
"Why wasn’t it a consequence?" we ask.
"Because it wasn’t a warning shot", replies the officer, still wishing to remain anonymous. "It was a wake-up shot, like I said earlier".

The man who was abruptly awakened is an environmentalist and animal lover. As previously reported in the article Animal Advocates Prioritize Lavish Lifestyle for Livestock, he spends his afternoons serving champagne to homeless crabs.
Smalltown Magazine has not yet confirmed whether the man holds a valid liquor license, or whether the crabs are of legal drinking age.
